The candidates of the Latvian national hockey team defeated the Latvian U-18 national hockey team 6: 0 in a test game on Wednesday, as both teams continued to prepare for their world championships.

Klāvs Veinbergs scored two goals in the Latvian national team, Mārtiņš Dzierkals stood out with two goals and two assists, but Jānis Jaks, Arvils Bergmanis and Ģirts Silkalns also made accurate shots.
The goals of the Latvian national team were guarded by Patriks Bērziņš and Kārlis Mežsargs, who divided the game time in half, but Dave David Rolov was in the U-18 national team goal.
After regular time, the teams spent extra time, during which Sandis Vilmanis scored for the U-18 national team, but Bergmanis was punctual for the Latvian candidates. Daniels Bērziņš, Klāvs Veinbergs and Jānis Vizbelis were the exact candidates in the post-training litters, but Vilmanis and Rogers Bukarts were exactly the ones for the U-18 national team.
The two national teams also met on Friday, celebrating the victory with a 10: 1 victory.
On April 13, U-18 hockey players will play against their Czech peers shortly before the start of the championship, on April 20. The Latvian national team will start the World Championship in the elite division on April 23 against Sweden. The next day, Latvia will meet with Finland, but the subgroup tournament will end on April 26 against Switzerland. The quarterfinals will take place on April 28. Juris Ozols and Herberts Vasiljevs, as well as goalkeeper coach Edgars Lūsiņš will assist Oļegs Sorokins in working with the Latvian U-18 national team.
On April 21 and 22, the Latvian adult team will visit the French national unit. On April 30 and May 1, hockey players will play with the Swiss national team, but on May 8 and 9, the Kazakhstan national team will be hosted at Arena Riga.
The 2022 World Hockey Championship will take place from 13 to 29 May in the Finnish cities of Helsinki and Tampere. The Latvian national team will start participating in the tournament on May 13 with a game against US hockey players.
