(London) The NFL will hold an international tryout camp for 50 athletes from 14 countries in London in October.

The event will be inspired by the annual scouting session conducted by the NFL in Indianapolis. The goal is to find international athletes who have the skills and potential to break into a league club roster.

The camp will take place on October 12, at the Tottenham club stadium.

Athletes from Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, New Zealand, France, Nigeria, Austria, Slovakia, Italy, Switzerland, Japan , Finland, Sweden and Hungary will be invited.

These athletes will be assessed for identification for the NFL’s International Development Program, which has produced players like Buffalo Bills defensive end Efe Obada, New England Patriots fullback Jakob Johnson, as well as Washington club tight end Sammis Reyes.

Some athletes identified during this evaluation day will be invited to train in the United States for a period of three months. The group will be reduced again after this period and a few will be assigned to NFL rosters for the 2022 season.

The league held similar events in Australia in 2018 and in Germany in 2019. Another tryout will take place in Mexico later in October for athletes unable to travel to London due to restrictions related to COVID-19.
