As a prelude to the organization of Window 2 of the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, Mr. Sakoba Keita, President of the Guinean Basketball Federation was the host of President Mahama Coulibaly.

Working session

After attending the meetings of the 15th day of N1, scheduled for Sunday April 16 at the Palais des Sports de Treichville, the two managers had a working session around the preparations for Window 2 which will take place on July 1, 2 and 3 in Abidjan, and mentioned areas for the development of basketball in the sub-region.

The President of the Guinean Federation, even aims to arrive a little earlier in Côte d’Ivoire for the preparation of the Syli National, with a view to Window 2 of the qualifications for the 2023 World Cup, Africa Zone.

Opening of new construction sites

The two presidents continue to maintain their cooperation in order to reactivate regional tournaments in agreement with FIBA, for the revitalization of West African basketball. President Mahama Coulibaly said he was happy that Ivorian basketball is gaining ground and wanted to reassure his counterpart about respect for the Ivorian tradition of hospitality in all circumstances.

It should be noted that to respect the new calendar, the clubs have agreed to speed up the pace with championship days which will follow one another at the pace of international competitions.

As for the 2nd edition of the All-Star Game, it is scheduled for May 28, 2022 at the Palais des Sports de Treichville, indicated the FIBB president who also revealed some contractions of the 2nd Window of the Qualifying Cup of the FIBA World.
