The City of Saint-Georges took advantage of the announcement of the upcoming opening of the ski center to announce the operation of other sports that can be practiced this winter.
Manac ice at the Lacroix-Dutil sports center will be open for public skating as of November 10. However, access to the rink will be limited to 20 people at a time. You must reserve your place online at least three days in advance.
Given the limited number of skaters allowed at a time, opening hours have been added. Thus, it will be possible to skate on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., as well as from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 11 a.m., from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In addition, access to the changing rooms will be prohibited. Benches will be placed near the ice so that people can put on their skates.
Finally, it will be mandatory to wear a mask from the moment the person enters the Lacroix-Dutil sports center. Skaters can remove it once on the ice.
The City is also working on the opening of outdoor skating rinks. They will open when external conditions permit, subject to directives from the Public Health Department.
Badminton
Citizens will also be able to access the Saint-Georges Polyvalente gymnasium to practice badminton starting November 9.
However, only singles matches will be permitted, with the exception of family members who live under the same roof. In this case, it will be necessary to present proof of identity.
Note that wearing a mask will be compulsory from the moment the person enters the school. Also, the changing rooms will not be accessible.
To be able to play, you will have to reserve your place by calling the Recreation Department (418 228-8155, ext. 0). The courts will be available from Monday to Friday and Sunday evening, as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
