After two Italian Masters Championships on Sardinian soil in Maracalagonis, the 36th edition took place in the city of Brescia over the weekend from 30 April to 1 May. Badminton Lecco came to the appointment with 7 athletes, 5 men and 2 women, achieving excellent results.
The first to wear the medal of Italian champion for the DF55 category is Roberta Brenzone paired with Sara Marchesini (Cus Bergamo). Below are two more titles in DX45 and 50, with Morten Sorensen paired with Emma Adele Szczepanski (Genova Bc) without giving a set to the opponents, and Edvidio Milani paired with Piera Tocchetti who in the final surpass the holders of the title won last year .
In the SM45 Morten Sorensen defends the title won in 2021 and easily wins the final with a double 21-17 and in the SM55 the Italian champion Denis Passador regains the Italian title he lost last year after a thrilling final won in three sets.
Mockery in the double
We get on the second step of the podium in the DM45 with the Morten Sorensen-Stefano Calegari couple, who after reaching the final cannot defend the title won last year due to an injury to Calegari. In the DM55 Denis Passador and Edvidio Milani with a bitter taste in their mouth leave the title to their opponents in the third set with a score of 22-20, while Passador with Roberta Brenzone (DX55) yield in the final to the strong pair of Malles. In the SF50 Piera Tocchetti in the third set of a hard-fought match leaves the gold medal to the opponent.
In third place are classified in the SM45 Stefano Calegari who stops during the semifinal match (injury), in the SF55 Roberta Brenzone who makes trio like Piera Tocchetti in the DF45 paired with Roberta Isacchi (Pol. 2B).
Paolo Poletti with Roberto Agazzi (Lario BC) in the DM55 stops in the quarter-finals, in which the draw put them against the category winners. In SM55 Edvidio Milani reaches the quarter-finals while Paolo Poletti the eighth.
The team cup is won by the Avs Malls company which, with equal points with B&CC Lecco, has one more victory on its side.
Great result for the coach Alessandro Redaelli who, with great passion, teaches, guides and advises all the athletes of the club.
