KOMPAS.com – Persija Jakarta management is ready to spend Rp 1 billion to pay the rental fee for the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), as long as the club gets a fair profit.

This was stated by the President of Persija Jakarta, Mohamad Prapanca, when speaking to the media crew at a meeting held on Friday (29/4/2022).

On that occasion, Mohamad Prapanca received a question regarding the possibility of Persija Jakarta hiring JIS as a company venue Home matches in Liga 1 for the 2022-2023 season.

Prapanca later admitted that he did not know in detail about the rental price for the stadium, which is located in Sunter, North Jakarta.

BolaSport.com wrote, there was news that each team had to spend Rp 800 million per game to hire JIS.

This nominal is known to be higher than the rental fee for the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Senayan, Central Jakarta.

The Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium is priced at Rp 500 million, with an additional Rp 1 billion security deposit which will be returned if there is no damage.

Regarding the possibility of renting JIS, Prapanca said that his party is ready to spend up to Rp 1 billion.

However, as already mentioned, Persija will only give the nominal if they get a fair profit.

In other words, Persija expects a mutually beneficial cooperation between the club and JIS management.

“We are ready to pay dearly if it is mutually beneficial. It is also okay for us to pay Rp. 1 billion as long as Persija Jakarta is also profitable,” said Prapanca, quoted from BolaSport.com.

Prapanca believes that the DKI Jakarta Government will give Persija a special price.

What’s more, JIS was actually built as a replacement for two Persija Jakarta stadiums that were no longer there, namely Menteng Stadium and Lebak Bulus Stadium.

“The point is that both Persija Jakarta and JIS must be mutually beneficial so as not to damage the relationship between us, JIS and The Jakmania,” said Prapanca.

Prapanca also admitted that his party had asked PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) to verify the JIS.

If they pass the verification, Persija Jakarta will be even more eager to host the stadium with a capacity of 80,000 spectators in Liga 1 2022-2023.

“We have sent the letter to PT LIB for verification. If it meets the verification requirements, JIS will become Persija Jakarta’s cage,” said Prapanca.

However, Prapanca said that Persija Jakarta had not received a reply letter from PT LIB to inform the JIS verification schedule.

Previously, PT LIB had confirmed that there was an incoming letter from Persija Jakarta to help verify JIS.

“There is no answer yet, maybe the holiday will be cut off, but later when we have an answer, we will inform our friends,” explained Prapanca. (Mochamad Hary Prasetya)
