VILLA ALTAGRACIA.- The Pueblo Nuevo team in the 12-13 age category won twice over Barrio Duarte in the resumption of the XI Baseball Tournament of the RBI Fundación Rica Program in Villa Altagracia, in homage to the immortal of Dominican and Cooperstown sports, Don Juan Marichal.
In the 14-15 year old division, there was a division of honors between Los Mogotes and Básima; and in 16-18 years the same thing happened between El Puerto and Kilometer 61 in the event that Grupo Rica coordinates with the country office of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Pueblo Nuevo defeated Barrio Duarte in the first of the day on Saturday by 9-8 races with victory for Henry Rafael López and setback for Luis Junior Fermín. The second of the 12-13-year-olds ended 13-3 in favor of Duarte and pitcher Daniel Guzmán, with a fall for Félix Manuel Santamaría.
Pueblo Nuevo had Ángel Luis Rodríguez with a double and a single, two runs scored; Frankeuris Marte Suero two hits, two runs scored, equal in RBIs; Henry Rafael López, pair of hits and pair of RBIs; Isaías Espinosa trio of a base, scored all three times; Janiel Toribio triple and two singles, stepped on plate two; Wilmy Castro a single.
For Barrio Duarte, Ariel Reynoso and Juan Micael de León double and single; Jomar Antonio Acevedo a tubey.
In 14-15 years, Los Mogotes first beat Básima 10-4, with Dauris José Jorge on the mound, who beat Eliezer Adames. Básima got even at the close 5-2, with Kelvin Milton in the box, who came out victorious over Víctor Ozorio.
On offense for Los Mogotes, Josías Paniagua tubey and simple, two produced; Luis Manuel Reynoso two hits, two scored; Manuel Aquino single, two RBIs and runs scored; Anderson Novas single, two scored and produced.
For Básima, Edwin Reynoso singled, two RBIs; José Paulino single RBI; Wilmer Rodríguez, single and RBI; Manuel Enrique Vásquez two hits, Edison Dotel double and single; Robinson Mendez hit and scored.
San José del Puerto won the fiesta de palo 16-6 at kilometer 61 in the first batch of the 16-18 year-olds, with Brenier Jiménez winning and José Miguel Morales losing. Those from Kilometer 61 applied the revenge by 12-1, with good pitching from Cleyber Pérez Féliz, who beat Pascual Féliz.
Jefferson Rondón had a double and a couple of singles with four RBIs and three runs scored, for El Puerto; Michael Ogando trio of hits, scored all three times; Alfren Encarnación and José Daniel Bonifacio a simple.
