Sustainable tourism: “Jendouba Spring” Festival, from May 13 to 15 in Tabarka and Aïn Draham


Sustainable tourism will celebrate spring with the “Jendouba Spring” festival, which will be held from May 13 to 15, 2022, in Tabarka and Aïn Draham and will promote mountain and forest tourism, traditional and modern music, handicrafts, get together with nature and enjoy of the charm of this beautiful region in the northwest of Tunisia.

Organized by the association Tunis lilkol, “Jendouba Spring” is a Festival supported by the project “Promotion of sustainable tourism” which is a joint action of the European Union and the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), within the framework of the “Tounes Wijhetouna” program, implemented by GIZ Tunisia in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism.

The organizers promise a unique tourist experience and an opportunity to discover local artisans and products through ecological, artistic, sports (outdoor) activities, as well as workshops and tastings of flagship products among other activities that invite you to relaxation for adults and children.

Program of activities of the “Jendouba Spring” Festival:

???? Friday, May 13

  • 7:00 a.m.: Departure by bus from Tunis to Ain Drahim.
  • 10:00 a.m.: Arrival at camp: welcome cocktail buffet and mini Tabla and zokra show.
  • 10:00 a.m.: Installation of the exhibition of handicrafts.
  • 11:00 am: Installation of the camp and installation of the tents.
  • 11:00 a.m.: Installation of the mini club.
  • 1:00 p.m.: Lunch.
  • 3 p.m.: Petanque tournaments.
  • 3 p.m.: Bike ride.
  • 3:00 p.m.: Hike in the beautiful Zeen oak forest, the highest mountain in Kroumirie. It is a circuit with high natural potential, also called “BELLFIRI” by the locals and on which you can meet craftsmen. (Activities ensured by Mrs. Rania mechergui: Dar El-Ain).
  • 3:00 p.m.: The hike on the shepherds’ road which explores the village of SRARIH with magnificent panoramic views of the mountains and the hills of Kroumirie, visit of a beekeeper. (Activities provided by: Dar EL Ain).
  • 3:00 p.m.: Opening of the library of public books.
  • 3:00 p.m.: Opening of the festival mini-club: archery games, petanque games, traditional scratch target, inflatable basketball and football, entertainment for children, mascot, board games.
  • 4:00 p.m.: Games without borders (inflatable games, balls, spades, shots on goal, table tennis, darts, precision football tarpaulin, Finnish skittles).
  • 7:00 p.m.: Prize giving for the winner of the game
  • 8 p.m.: Dinner.
  • 21h00: Spectacle Dream deYasser Jraidi.
  • 11 p.m.: Storyteller (Hakaweti).

???? Saturday May 14

  • 8:00 a.m.: Breakfast.
  • 9 a.m.: Yoga / meditation.
  • 9:30 am: Football tournaments at the international sports complex of Ain Draham.
  • 10 a.m.: Archery tournaments.
  • 10 a.m.: Bike ride.
  • 10:00 am: Ecological round table (How to preserve our environment? How to move from individual gesture to social movement?) Provided by students from the Sylvo-Pastoral Institute of Tabarka under the direction of Mrs. Amel Abbes at Discovery Ain drahim.
  • 11:00 a.m.: Tombola games: many gifts to be won (Artisanal products from the region.
  • 11:00 a.m.: Ecological action: (Gardening, cleaning action around the camp, etc.)
  • 11:00 a.m.: Workshop and pottery workshop in the camping center with a local craftswoman.
  • 1:00 p.m.: Typical Tunisian lunch prepared by local craftswomen.
  • 3:00 p.m.: Botanical hike in the wonderful DOUAR LABGAA forest (discovery of vegetation species: name, origin… / advice and tips for collecting firewood).
  • 3:00 p.m.: Nordic hike, visit to a traditional cheese dairy.
  • 17h00: Dj BlackJackk + Dj HVMZA (Belgium) + DJ Benjemy: moon shining.
  • 20h00: Diner + solo kanoun.
  • 00:00: Storyteller (Rawi).

???? Sunday, May 15

  • 9:00 a.m.: Breakfast.
  • 10 a.m.: Muscular awakening / gymnastics.
  • 11:00 a.m.: Camp uninstallation.
  • 12:00 p.m.: Depart Ain Draham to Tabarka
  • 1:00 p.m.: Sandwich break at Dar El Karma Tabarka (with lots of extra activities: pedal boats, kayaks, horse riding).
  • 2.30 p.m.: Stroll in the traditional Tabarka souk + visit to the Aiguilles + visit to Fort Genoese + free shooting for all participants by a professional photographer.
  • 3:30 p.m.: Return to Tunis.
