The sixth game day of the 2022 season was on the program last weekend in the 1st Baseball Bundesliga. The Guggenberger Legionnaires Regensburg were able to extend their winning streak to nine games and the Bonn Capitals defended their undefeated start to the baseball year. In addition, Heidenheim Heideköpfe, Stuttgart Reds, Munich-Haar Disciples, Hamburg Stealers and Dortmund Wanderers also celebrated double victories. The Softball Bundesliga paused due to a squad measure of the U22 and women’s national teams.
In the north of the first baseball league, the Bonn Capitals beat the strong Berlin Flamingos twice with 9:2 and 11:1. Bonn thus consolidated first place in the north with an impeccable record of 8-0. The Dortmund Wanderers also won twice against the Dohren Wild Farmers. At 10:0 and 1:0, Dortmund showed itself to be extremely defensive and only allowed one hit in game two. The Hamburg Stealers meanwhile won 7-2 and 5-3 against the Cologne Cardinals.
In the south, the Guggenberger Legionnaires sit comfortably in first place with a record of 9-1. They celebrated a hard-fought 7-6 win against the Mainz Athletics and a clearer 9-1 victory. Next weekend there will be a showdown between Regensburg and the Heidenheim Heideköpfe, who struggled to win 5:3 and 10:3 against the Tübingen Hawks. Game one was decided by a 2-run walk-off home run by Sascha Lutz in the ninth inning. In the second game, too, the decision was made late. Meanwhile, the Stuttgart Reds won 5: 2 and 7: 5 at the IT sure Falcons Ulm and the Munich-Haar Disciples with 13: 3 and 6: 2 at the Mannheim Tornados.
In addition to the top game between Heidenheim and Regensburg, there will be duels between Ulm and Mannheim, Stuttgart and Mainz as well as Munich-Haar and Tübingen in the south next weekend. In the north, Dohren has Berlin as a guest, the Untouchables Paderborn travel to Cologne and the Capitals have to go to Hamburg.
Meanwhile, in the Softball Bundesliga, the Ratingen Goose Necks meet the Neunkirchen Nightmares, the Hamburg Knights play against the Cologne Cardinals, the Stuttgart Reds have the Guggenberger Legionnaires as guests and the Freising Grizzlies play with the Karlsruhe Cougars.
