GROSSETO – Six Bsc Grosseto 1952 players have been called up for the national team for the meeting to be held from 19 to 22 May in Anzio. They are Mattia Sireus (2002), Niccolò Cinelli (2002) and Marco Artitzu (2002), called up for the under 23 national team, and Diego Luciani (2004), Niccolò Function (2004) and Omar Benelli (2005) called up for the under 18.
“The call of six of our players out of the twenty-six called up between under 18 and under 23 – said Roberto Piccioli, vice president of Bsc Grosseto 1952 – shows how much our project is based not only on young people but, above all, on the quality of young people. We started ten years ago right on the green line and today, in addition to playing with everyone in the top flight, we are proud of the continuous call-up of our boys to the national team “.
The Under 23 representative, led by Alberto D’Auria, will begin work in view of the 2023 appointments, while the Under 18 national team, led by Francesco Aluffi, continues to prepare in view of the two international commitments: the European Championships in Ostrava and Brno, which will be held in August, and the World Cup which will be held in September in Florida (photo Guerrini and Marcoaldi).
