After three years of waiting it is finally time for the National University Championships. The 2022 edition will take place in Cassino from 14 to 22 May. There will be 25 athletes enrolled at the University of Sassari (divided between karate, taekwondo, tennis, rugby a7 and athletics)
Athletics
In the 2019 edition of the National University Championships, held in L’Aquila, the CUS Sassari brought home ten medals (three golds, three silvers and four bronzes). Five of these medals came from athletics which, this year, will count well ten participants with the athletes of the Sassari association who will try to replicate what their predecessors did in Abruzzo.
Great expectations for the award-winning Antonio Moro from AS Delogu Nuoro. On the days of 22 and 23 Maydates chosen for athletics tests, Riccardo Fenu and his companions will be involved in 8 specialties, divided as follows:
Male:
100 meters: Antonio Moro, Matteo Murineddu
200 meters: Sadibou Cheikh Diallo, Riccardo Fenu
400 meters: Angelo Cimino
1500 meters: Francesco Sanna
4 × 100 meters: Matteo Murineddu, Riccardo Fenu, Cheikh Sadibou Diallo, Antonio Moro
High jump: Camillo Delogu
Long jump: Edoardo Rivolta
jump triple: Edoardo Rivolta
Female:
100 m e 200 m: Silvia Cherchi
Tennis
As for tennis, however, they will be three athletes present in Cassino. Elisa Patta (2.6), who came out in the first round in L’Aquila, will try to improve the result obtained in Abruzzo at his second participation in this coveted competition.
In the men, however, the standard bearers of the CUS Sassari will be Gianluca Sarais (3.2) and Andrea Cherchi (2.8). The qualifiers will start Monday 16, while the final is scheduled for Friday 20 May.
Taekwondo and Judo
They will be three also athletes engaged in taekwondoa discipline that together with karate will open the cassinate event.
Sarah Longoni (koryo), Valentina Rassu (koryo) e Giulio Marzeddu (-68 kg and koryo), accompanied by Maestro Giuseppe Pirinowill fight in the PalaSport of Cervaro, a few km from Cassino.
The patrol of the rossoblù athletes engaged in Cassino i closes karateki Noemi Franca (-50 kg) and Fabio Delogu (kata), who will fight in the Stellantis sports facilities in Piedimonte San Germano (FR).

Rugby
At the CNU of Cassino, for the CUS Sassari, the team of rugby a 7which was included in group C, together with Udine, Catania, Milan and Turin. Wednesday 18th May the rossoblù selection will face the Sicilians first, and then challenge Turin, Milan and Udine respectively.
