The Lagardère trophy marks the return of women’s tennis in the capital

The first edition of the Lagardère Trophy, which takes place barely three kilometers from Roland-Garros on the courts of La Croix-Catelan, aims to become an unmissable event in French tennis.

Since Monday on the courts of La Croix-Catelan, high-level women’s tennis has returned to Paris, eight years after the last edition of the Open GDF Suez. The Lagardère Paris Racing club (13,000 members including 7,000 for the tennis section), located in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne (16th century), hosts a WTA 125 labeled event, the prize money of which amounts to 115,000 dollars. This new tournament is perfectly placed in the calendar a few days before qualifying for Roland-Garros on May 16. “This is a project that we had in mind for a long time.
