ES Sétif, the last Algerian representative in African interclub competitions, was eliminated from the African Football Champions League after its draw against Egyptians Al-Ahly SC with a score of 2 to 2 (mi – time: 1-1), in the semi-final second leg played on Saturday evening at the 5-July stadium in Algiers.
ES Sétif’s goals were scored by Ahmed Kendouci (45th) and Riad Benayad (61st), while Al-Ahly opened the scoring through Ahmed Abdelkader (2nd), before equalizing by Mohamed Sherif (90th +2 ).
In the first leg, the Sétifiens lost 4-0.
In the final, scheduled for May 30 in Casablanca (Morocco), Al-Ahly SC, double holder of the trophy, will face WA Casablanca, who eliminated the Angolan team of Petro Atlético. The Moroccans won the first leg (3-1) in Luanda, before drawing (1-1) on Friday evening in Casablanca.
