Our neighborhoods have talent and now everyone will know it. The African Cup of Nations (CAN) neighborhoods will “to grow” and officially becomes the National Neighborhoods Cup, the organizers announced on their social networks on Monday. Its final will be broadcast live on Prime Video.
Created in 2019 in Créteil (Val-de-Marne), this unofficial competition quickly took on a phenomenal scale and was deployed in several cities. From Le Mans to Evry, amateur footballers compete under the banner of foreign countries during this home African Cup of Nations. The matches, relayed on social networks, attract internationals, crowds, and are transformed into popular festivals.
For this 2022 edition, the tournament will take place every weekend, from May 29 in Créteil until July 2, the day of the final. The latter, like any great match worthy of the name, will now have the right to a broadcaster, namely Prime Video. Moreover, the same as that of Ligue 1. Amazon’s streaming platform will thus have the opportunity to broadcast high-level football this summer, during the summer break. A women’s edition will also be offered this year.
