A tribute and two contests

Sixty-five archers from the Grand-Est region took part, on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May, in the individual outdoor shooting competitions, and in the second round of the Regional Excellence Division by teams, organized by the SLO Bettancourt, at the football stadium of Bettancourt-la-Ferrée.

As a prelude to the launch of the individual outdoor shooting competitions, and the second round of the Regional Excellence Team Division, organized by the SLO Bettancourt, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May, a minute of silence was held in memory and in tribute to Etienne Jeanmaire, former president of SLO Bettancourt and linchpin of the organization for many years, who died in January. A challenge was also dedicated to him during the weekend.

In the international category, the Bettancourtois Esteban Myaux took over among the chicks over his club comrade, Henry Méry, with 393 points against 279 points for the second named. In youngsters, Louis Méry (SLO Bettancourt) took second place. In minimal, only three representatives of SLO Bettancourt were in the running. With 465 points, Nathan Bouveret finished in the lead, ahead of Maxime Block (395 points) and Victor-Nikola Willemin-Breteau (109 points). Among the juniors, the Bettancourtoise Giulia Vallelian, with 469 points, ranked second behind Zoé Jamot (Colmar), author of 520 points.

As for the adults, the Eclaronnais Jean-Luc Chevillion, with 615 points, won in seniors “2” recurve, ahead of the Mosellen Patrice Kardacz (Hayange), author of 582 points. The Bettancourtois Christophe Vallelian ranks eighth with 408 points. Finally, in seniors “2” compound bow, François Roussel (SLO Bettancourt) took fourth place behind a 100% Moselle podium.

Nice weekend for the SLO Bettancourt

In the national category, the Bettancourtois Mouhammad Bettahar beat his partner Aaron Moret by 40 points as youngsters. The only competitors in their category, Victor-Nikola Willemin-Breteau (minimum) and Giulia Vallelian (junior) scored 285 and 572 points respectively. In seniors “1” recurve, Jennifer Chausson (SLO Bettancourt) won with a total of 536 points, ahead of Laurianne Leglaive (Pargny-sur-Saulx), author of 512 points. In seniors “2” recurve, Christophe Vallelian (SLO Bettancourt) took second place behind Sparnacien Johan Lahaye.

The only ones entered in their category, Monica Vallelian (SLO Bettancourt) totaled 537 points in senior “2” recurve bows, Claudine Ménissier (1re Compagnie d’Arc d’Eclaron) 413 points in senior “3” recurve, and Jean-Pierre Ménissier (Castors bleus) 343 points in senior “3” recurve.

At the same time, shootings counting for the second round of the Regional Excellence Division by teams were also organized, but no Haute-Marne team was formed.
