Games of the past, tournaments, sports tests, workshops, readings and creativity. All organized in a specific area: the Paride Allegri park. This is one of the novelties of the 2022 edition of the Wild Asparagus Festival, which will animate Vezzano for the whole day of Sunday 22 May.

In the area of the athletics track, “Test your fitness” will be staged with performances, demonstrations and the possibility of trying your hand at pole dance and judo. Vezzano Gym will propose, at 10.30 and at 16, two test lessons of pole dance for children aged 6 to 12 (max 6 children) and at 11.20 and at 16.50, two test lessons in the same discipline for adults (always max 6 people ). The Emilia Judo team will propose judo demo at 3.30 pm and randori judo at 4.30 pm.
In the meantime, the now consolidated appointment with the minibasket tournament, organized by Go Minibasket, which will see Albinea, Montecavolo and Vezzano on the pitch, will be repeated inside the municipal gym.
At 2.30 pm three workshops will begin: “Tiger mosquito who are you?”, To discover the buzzing insect, by Ceas Rete Reggiana, which will also set up an information point for the distribution of larvicides; “The clock of the ancients”, to learn how to build the hourglass with powder or water, by Archeosistemi and, in the civic room, “Riciclo con fantasia” by the CEP of Vezzano. Two new murals appear along the facade of the gym and changing rooms of the Vezzano sports field. A group of boys and girls, aged 13 to 16, made them. The idea was born from the collaboration between the Collettivo Fx, Informagiovani “Il Posto Giusto”, Us Vezzano, Municipal Gym, Administration and a group of young people from Vezzo.
Sunday 22 May, at 11 am, the works will be inaugurated within the Wild Asparagus Festival.
Taking the opportunity, the boys met weekly to elaborate the idea and develop the design, together with Simone Ferrarini, artistic supervisor of the FX Collective, and the Informagiovani operators.
The design process ended with the exhibition of the sketch in the civic hall, in the presence of the executives of the Us Vezzano and the municipal administration. Once the project was approved, the actual pictorial work began.
The boys thus continued to paint in the April afternoons, without stopping even on rainy days. The result is the artistic realization of a project that has seen them as protagonists from the initial stages.
Along the facade of the changing rooms, a friendly match is played between historical Vezzanesi and world-class personalities. A game that unites and reconnects the history of Vezzano to the history of the world known to children. Football and the aggregative power of sport in general are the glue to an imagined, unlikely and dreamlike story that sees us all dreamers together in a startled grandstand.
The characters chosen were the result of a cooperation between children and sports clubs.
The composition for the Mondo team sees Kobe Bryant, Marie Curie, Virginia Woolf, Rita Levi Montalcini, Greta Thunberg, Anna Frank, Rosa Parks, Frida Kahlo, Lilliana Segre, Maradona and Malala Yousafzai on the field.
The “Vezzano” instead lined up: Paride Allegri, Liliana del Monte, Stefano Cremaschi, Garduccio, Ermanno Paganini, Antonio Casotti, Francesco Lolli, Renato Valcavi, Angelo Manini, Matilde di Canossa and Prospero Ghidoni.
The challenge will be refereed by, by nonepopodimenoche, Joan of Arc.
It will be nice, for those who want to visit the mural, to recognize the faces of the players of the most awaited match that exists. For anyone who comes to see it and doesn’t know some of the players, there will be an opportunity to learn more about their incredible stories.
Continuing along the “Paride Allegri” park, we arrive at the second painted facade, that of the gymnasium, where the second mural faces.
Inspired by Henri Matisse’s “Dance”, which recalls the allegory of life and the constant search for harmony between men, though not always easy, the mural depicts seven boys and girls, each wearing the clothing and equipment of the sport performed. in the gym or in the outdoor area: judo, basketball, skating, volleyball, bike, skate, dance.
Also in this case, sport is vital energy, community of purpose, physical and emotional movement. In this second project, the children were urged to tell about a place they inhabited and experienced in the most daily and personal dimension.
