Ice hockey: seven reinforcements arrive at HC Saint-Imier

If Jonathan Ast (Moutier), Alain Oppliger (Star Chaux-de-Fonds), Gaëtan Struchen (Delémont) and Anthony Tomat (Franches-Montagnes) have chosen to leave HC Saint-Imier, the club can count on seven reinforcements in sight of the 2022-2023 season, according to the “Journal du Jura”.

In addition to the arrivals of Lucas Boehlen and Samuel Grezet from Franches-Montagnes, defender Mathieu Tschantz and striker Esteban Willemin, who played with Star Chaux-de-Fonds, will wear the Imerian colors, as will rear Lucas Boillat (Yverdon).

“Our contingent is almost under roof,” says sports director Pascal Stengel. Two young players, namely HC University Neuchâtel goalkeeper Lino Erard and HC La Chaux-de-Fonds (HCC) M20-top junior striker Angel Boccanfuso, have also been signed.

By way of physical preparation, all these little people have been sweating since the beginning of May under the orders of Oscar Burillo, sports coach at Energy fitness in Saint-Imier. /LPE

Badminton: Lucie Amiguet on the podium in France

Lucie Amiguet (17) has once again distinguished herself on the international scene. Competing in Saint Louis (France) with the under-19s, the badminton player from BC La Chaux-de-Fonds (BCC) climbed to the third step of the podium in women’s doubles with her partner Vera Appenzeller. In singles, the thin racket was eliminated in the quarterfinals by the Indonesian Chiara Marvella Handoyo in two sets.

Less accustomed to international tournaments, Chaux-de-Fonnier Léo Boichat lost in the first round in singles, men’s doubles and mixed. / FCH

Judo: Laurence Jeanneret Berruex in bronze at the Europeans

Laurence Jeanneret Berruex shines on the international scene. In Rijeka in Croatia, the Neuchâteloise pulled out of the game during the European Kata Championships.

With the Valaisan Fabrice Beney, they finished in bronze. Second at the end of the first day, they reached the final in juno-kata. On the second day, they were beaten by a few points by their Spanish opponents and thus finished in third place. GCA


Badminton: Nicolas Briancourt achieves a full box

For the second national junior tournament of the year, Nicolas Briancourt flew over the competition in the under 15s. In Yverdon, the badminton player from BC Neuchâtel won in men’s singles and doubles with Geneva’s Aymeric Charbonnier.

On the women’s side, Sofia Uvarova (BC Neuchâtel) placed second in the women’s singles and doubles under 15 with her German-speaking partner Nishka Sharma.

In M19, La Chaux-de-Fonnière Elia Jeanfavre took second place in singles and climbed to the third step of the podium with his partner from BC La Chaux-de-Fonds Aylin Raminhos. / FCH
