The National Basketball Association, Africa Region (NBA Africa) and the Ministry of Sports of Benin signed a partnership agreement for the professionalization and promotion of Beninese basketball.
M. Victor Williams, CEO de la National Basketball Association (NBA)Africa region and the Beninese sports minister Oswald Homéky proceeded, on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in the “Yellow River” room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Cotonou, to the signing of a partnership agreement.
“We are ready in the NBA Africa to encourage all activities in the field of sport, in particular basketball. We are also ready to work with the government of Benin and even all the stakeholders.”said Victor Williams after signing the partnership agreement.
Beninese Sports Minister Oswald Homéky thanked the NBA delegation and recalled the vision of the Head of State Patrice Talon who intends to make sport a pole of socio-economic development. The NBA Africa was strongly represented at the signing of the partnership agreement through the CEO Victor Williams ; the chief basketball operations department within the NBA Africa Franck Traore ; and the Head of Operations and Strategies Georges Land.
Also present on the Beninese side was the president of the Benin Basketball Federation, Ismahinl Onifadé.
