In the first constituency of Yonne, the choice of the National Rally (RN), to represent it in the legislative elections of June 12 and 19, 2022, fell on Daniel Grenon, 73 years old. “The choice of loyalty and seriousness”, justified Julien Odoul, the leader of the RN in Yonne, during the presentation of his candidate on May 17, 2022, in Auxerre. That also of a local anchorage with the hope that it can compensate for the political inexperience of the septuagenarian in a constituency where the RN intends to “lie in ambush”.
“I am a pure local”
Daniel Grenon indeed enjoys a local notoriety acquired thanks to his past activity as a Poyaudin merchant and his investment in the Icaun sports movement. “I am a pure local. I have always lived in Yonne and for a long time I ran a business in Puisaye, a delicatessen specializing in regional products”, describes the candidate. Also invested in the associative world, Daniel Grenon evokes his “archery” years, when “it was necessary to put the Icaunais clubs back in the saddle”. “I contributed in particular to the creation of the Sentinelle de Brienon, the clubs of Migennes or Sens.”
“The arrival is betrayal incarnate. After having been the most violent pamphleteer of anti-Macronism, he made a spectacular turn, constantly reaching out to Macron to obtain a folding seat.
Julien Odoul (Leader of the RN in Yonne)

Daniel Grenon made an appearance on the political scene, in 2021, during the departmental elections. In pairs with Annick Béthuel, under the colors of the RN, he took the lead in the first round in the Cœur de Puisaye canton (with more than 25% of the vote), before being beaten in the second by the duo of the departmental majority composed of Gilles Abry and Isabelle Froment-Meurice. He was also on the list led by Julien Odoul during the 2021 regionals. , despite the requests, at the time, of Edouard Ferrand (former departmental secretary of the frontist party in Yonne, editor’s note). But I always promised that I would when I was free.”
In Yonne, the Reconquest party! invested three candidates from civil society
Retired since 2010, Daniel Grenon embarks on the legislative battle “serene” and “combative”. “I’ve always been a fighter in my life. That’s not going to change today.” He assures that he does not fear adversity in a constituency which would certainly have been able to switch to the RN side during the second round of the presidential election without the vote of the voters of Auxerre, but whose voters have placed their trust for two terms in the outgoing deputy LR, Guillaume Larrivé. “It was Jean-Pierre Soisson who introduced him to me at the time, in the street in Toucy. He has a lot in his head, but his record is not up to par. Guillaume Larrivé is present in Puisaye , but just shake hands.”
“The National Rally has a historic chance to win in Yonne on June 19”, assures its leader, Julien Odoul
If Julien Odoul recognizes that the first constituency is “less favorable” to the RN, he nevertheless believes that there is “a card to play”. “The arrival is betrayal incarnate, he says. After having been the most violent pamphleteer of anti-Macronism, he made a spectacular turn, constantly reaching out to Macron to obtain a folding seat. And that, the voters no longer want it. They demand clarity, which only the RN can bring them.
Candidates declared in the first constituency of Yonne : Guillaume Larrivé (LR), Victor Albrecht (Renaissance, LREM), Florence Loury (Nupes), Paul Téqui (Reconquest!), Elsa Guyot (Animal Party), Daniel Grenon (RN)
