DIEREN/ELLECOM/VELP – In the run-up to the Women’s Volleyball 2022 World Cup, the province of Gelderland launched a subsidy scheme for net sports fields. Recently, three net sports fields have been constructed in the municipality of Rheden.
The net sports fields have been placed in Dieren on the schoolyard of Kindcentrum LeerRijk, in Ellecom on the schoolyard of the Anne Frank school and in Velp on the sports court behind the Biljoenbad.
The metal net can take a beating and is adjustable in height so that all kinds of sports or games can be practiced. The highest position is ideal for playing a game of volleyball and the lowest position for foot volleyball. Of course, other sports can also be practiced, such as badminton and tennis.
Not sure what to play? No problem! On the sports net you can scan a QR code, which refers to the official website of outdoor sports fields where all kinds of games are offered/explained that one can play on the net sports field.
Women’s Volleyball World Cup 2022
In 2022, the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Cup will take place in the Netherlands for the first time in history. The four-yearly World Cup lasts more than three weeks and 24 countries from five different continents take part in the event. In total, more than a hundred matches will be played from September 23 to October 15. Most of the event takes place in the province of Gelderland, with Arnhem and Apeldoorn as playing locations.
