A delegation of Salvadoran judokas recently held two important blanks in Costa Rica, in order to prepare for their next official regional commitments.
11 national judokas competed in the El Erizo Cadete and Junior International Cup, and the El Erizo Senior and Master International Cup, both held on May 14 and 15, respectively, in Alajuela.
Richard Ramírez, administrative manager of the Salvadoran Judo Federation (Fesajudo), explained that both events are part of the preparation of national athletes who will compete in the Central American Senior Judo Championship, to be held in the country in July, and the Games Central American Sports, to be held in Costa Rica in November.
“Our goal is to be ready to face the Central American Senior Championship in the best possible way, assigned to us by the North and Central American Judo Confederation and which we will hold from July 21 to 24,” confirmed Ramírez.
In the Senior and Master event, Ricardo Engelgard (81kg) stood out with a gold medal, while José Rivas (60kg), Jonathan Rogel (66kg), Luis Urrutia (73k), Francisco Galeano (90kg) and Lesly Hernández contributed bronze medals. (48kg). And a fifth place for Otoniel Gregory (81 kg).
In the Cadet and Junior event, Edwin Emmanuel Serrano Gutiérrez (60kg), André Otoniel Sorto Gregory (81kg), Francisco Javier Galeano Alvarado (90kg), Adriana Odalis Rivera Sandoval (63kg) and Daniela Carolina Garcia (44kg) stood out with gold medals. . José Alberto Riva Leiva (60kg) also stood out with a bronze medal.
