Last weekend, Sandrine Lapeyre and Léna Castel took part in the senior Occitanie championships in Mèze (34). Objective: qualification for the French championships.
Sandrine, despite a good entry, did not succeed in winning these two group fights. Léna, still a junior, won three of these five fights. His combativeness and his determination allowed him to reach a well-deserved third place, synonymous with qualification for the French third division championships which will take place on Sunday June 5, in Paris.
For the youngest, the preparation for the last tournament of the season was done during the holidays, during a three-day club course bringing together around thirty children from minipoussins to youngest. Supervised by their teachers Valérie and Laurent, these young judokas were able to perfect their skills in judo techniques and refereeing rules. They were also able to indulge in rugby, the theca, as well as gymnastics sessions. A moment of sharing and cohesion that creates an alchemy between the different age categories.
A big thank you to Gaëlle, Justine, Léna, Baptiste and Xavier for the coaching help, as well as to Philippe Maymat for the rugby initiation. See you in October for the next course. Also note the participation of Hervé Fillon and Mickaël Delon in the arbitration of the European Cup, in Strasbourg.
Upcoming events. Animation awakening judo on May 21, in Meauzac; participation in the Valence-d’Agen tournament, May 22; club party and general meeting on June 25; re-registrations at the club, from June 27th to July 1st.
