Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne (30) was voted the best player of the 2021-2022 Premier League season on Saturday. The Belgian international, author of 15 goals and 7 assists in 29 league games, was preferred to Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Heung-min Son (Tottenham), Joao Cancelo (Manchester City ), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) and Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United).
Already rewarded in the 2019-2020 financial year, the former Wolfsburg player becomes the fourth player in Premier League history to win this trophy several times. He thus imitates Thierry Henry (2002, 2004), Cristiano Ronaldo (2007, 2008) and Nemanja Vidic (2009, 2011).
