The legazpiarra finished twelfth in the second round of the Moto3 Junior World Championship held at the Ricardo Tormo circuit
Xabi Zurutuza took twelfth place in the second round of the Moto3 Junior World Championship held today at the Ricardo Tormo circuit. The rider from Legazpiarra, who started in ninth place on the grid, did not have the option to fight for the top positions because it was soon found that he did not have enough potential to be among the seven riders who led the event.
On a sunny day, Zurutuza lost two seconds in the third lap and as the test progressed, this disadvantage has only grown to the sixteen seconds he has lost at the finish line.
The test was won by David Alonso, from Gas Gas, with a time of 30:32.161, who was able to defend himself against the harassment of Piqueras, who from the last row of the grid has gone on to lead the test until he had victory options . Piqueras has been setting the best times in the first half of the race in which he has been intractable.
Alonso is the one who now leads the World Championship with 38 points, followed by the Thai Tatchakorn Buasri (Honda), who was the winner of the first race held at the Portuguese Estoril track. Zurutuza is eighth with ten points after scoring in both races. He has made a good start in the team led by Alessandro Tonucci.
