THE TABLE
The challenge of Iglesias between restarts from the fourth inning, but from the top Cagliari Baseball e Ecotherm Brescia. Game two of the first day of the championship had been suspended due to bad weather at 2-0 in favor of Brescia (points scored in the third inning with double Marc Rodriguez and in the fourth inning on a crazy throw from the Cagliari starter Javier Fandino) which reopens with full bases and one eliminated but Federico Virgadaula does not give continuity and beats in a double game 4-6-3 closing the innings. The Brescia players come back with full bases still in the fifth inning, but with zero eliminated they fall into another double game – this time with Staurenghi – and do not go beyond a marked point. Hector Ponce, a guest starter and former on duty, keeps Cagliari’s clubs at bay which, until the end of the sixth inning, are unable to create major problems. However, they manage to shake up the match in the seventh inning, against Federico Virgadaulascoring a point with the sacrifice sprint of Jose Cuesta arrived after a triple of Danny Turino. Cagliari is getting closer and closer in the eighth, where it shortens using an error and a couple of bases on ball. However, the Ecotherm Brescia does not stand by and in the upper part of the ninth it goes back by two points (double to the right of Hector Ponce). The victory gets out of hand right on the most beautiful: with a rider in first and two outs Marco Contu revives the dugout e Gabriele Angioi finds himself batting with runners in point position. On the count of three balls and one strike the moment that closes the match: the young Sardinian hitter produces a serve that ends in depth between the center fencer and the left fielder, forcing the winger to chase it and creating space for the walk-off inside-the-park home run of the 5-4 finale.
THE TABLE
Match tense and pulled point to point that of race one between Big-Mat Bsc Grosseto e Academy of Nettuno. To pass, 5-2is the host formation of Stefano Cappuccini who in the first half of the race puts many runners on base but without producing with riders in point position stopped by the battery David’s Religious–Francesco Ludovisi. The biggest chance, however, has the Academy, which in the fourth inning seems to be able to put Sireus in crisis but with full bases and an out. Matteo Colalucci e Giacomo De Donno are victims of strikeouts. The game is unlocked only in the lower part of the sixth inning thanks to Filippo Melliwhich finds space in the hole on the left and ships to point Niccolò Cinelli (single and stolen leadoff). The Academy, however, does not give up and finds the same in the upper part of the seventh with the race at home Alessandro Barbona but between the seventh and eighth the Maremma players respond with four more points that serve to secure the game. The reaction they had in the ninth is not enough for the young Neptunians: the only point comes on a missed ball combo – crazy throw with Marco Artitzu who, however, finds the energy to stop the Lazio comeback in the bud.
A completely different music in competition 2, where the Big-Mat Grosseto you take the scene by winning for 8-2 a match never questioned. Hosts ahead already in the first inning with three points provoked by the singles of Ericson Leonora (serve which also causes a defensive error) e Mattia Pancellini, who sends Leonora home for the provisional 3-0. An inning later the Grosseto players lead 5-0 on a crazy pitch by Max Smith and single with rbi di Yordany Scull. Meanwhile Kendry Flores (replaced by Angel Marquez starting from the fifth inning) closes the doors and gives the team even more confidence Stefano Cappuccini that in the fifth inning, taking advantage of a change on the mountain (Attilio Bellucci for Smith) leads 6-0 with a central rebound beaten by Francesco Cappuccini and that he sends home Mattia Pancellini, starring one inning later in the 7-0 sacrifice sprint. After three dominant takes, Angel Marquez makes room for Ali Kamran. The young BSC pitcher got off to a bad start with three consecutive singles from Lorenzo Barbona, Francesco Ludovisi e Lorenzo Scerrato (rbi), but he’s good at avoiding big trouble by inducing Samuele Bruno to a double-cross serve (enter a point) and then exit the inning on the sprint of Annunziata. to the field change Ericson Leonora closes his day in a great way (4-5 in game two) with the home run of 8-2 preserved from Nicola Mega.
