Alessandro Cappelletti (Old Wild West Udine) is the Italian MVP of the Serie A2 Old Wild West

National Basketball League announces the winner of the sixth edition of LNP Trophy for the Serie A2 Old Wild West for the category “Italian mvp” of the regular season. Elected on the basis of votes received from managers, coaches and captains of the 28 Serie A2 Old Wild West clubs. The recognition is reserved for players of Italian nationality or who have obtained Italian training.

ALESSANDRO CAPPELLETTI (Old Wild West Udine)

Born in Assisi, Umbria, on 22 October 1995, playmaker, 186 cm tall, in the regular season he had averages of 12.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.9 steals in 25 minutes, with 60% from 2, 40 % from 3 and 80% to free. His Old Wild West finished in first place in the Serie A2 Green group, with the best overall record in the category, 26 wins and 4 defeats; the Friulians also won the LNP Italian Cup, last March in Roseto degli Abruzzi, in the final on Cantù.
Cappelletti, in his first year in Udine, lived a season as a protagonist, with a great continuity of performance: for him 24 races out of 30 in double figures in the points scored; on 15 occasions he has also captured at least 5 rebounds, while there have been 22 games in which he has distributed 5 or more assists.
The Umbrian director started in Giromondo Spoleto, before joining the youth teams of Mens Sana Siena, making his debut in Serie A in the 2013/14 season; He later spent two seasons in A2 at Fulgor Omegna, before returning to Siena, Mens Sana 1871 in A2, for another two years, from 2016 to 2018, in which he was limited by physical problems. After an experience at Virtus Bologna (2018/19), playing the Serie A championship and winning the Basketball Champions League, he played for two years at Basket Torino, in A2, where he established himself as one of the best playmaker in the category ( 10.6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in 2019/20; 10.7 points, 4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game in 2020/21), reaching the final promotion in his second season. Last summer the landing in Udine, with the Apu Old Wild West. In his career he has also played in two European championships with the blue youth national teams.
