Uruguayan basketball league system

The Uruguayan basketball league system It is a series of interconnected leagues, organized by the Uruguayan Basketball Federation for the country’s basketball clubs, both in the male and female branches. It has a mode of relegation and promotion between different leagues at different levels.

men’s basketball[editar]

The main objective of this league system is to group professional and amateur basketball under the same organization. It is made up of three divisions: the Uruguayan Basketball League, the Uruguayan Promotion League and the Third Promotion Division. There are promotions and relegations between the three divisions.

The following is a list of the teams that dispute the official championships in their respective categories during the 2021 Season:

women’s basketball[editar]

Women’s Basketball League is the highest division of women’s basketball, which was inaugurated in 2017. Until then, the Women’s Metropolitan Tournament was played (as in men’s basketball).

Its dispute system is very similar to that of the Uruguayan Basketball League.

The following is a list of the teams that will dispute the official championships in their respective categories during the 2017 Season. Eight teams participate: Albatros, Capurro, Cordón, Defensor Sporting, Deportivo Paysandú, Goes, Malvín and Nacional.[1]
