Tennessee-Baseball is alone at the top of the heading into the NCAA-Superregional, as was the case for most of the 2022 season. The Vols left Campbell and Georgia Tech’s Knoxville Regional untouched, but most other teams weren’t so lucky.
Convulsions, excitement, controversial calls and unique celebrations filled a wild regional round and sent six previously unseeded teams into the last 16. From Tennessee Jordan Beck shows the middle finger With a total of 66 runs in three games between Arkansas and Oklahoma State, the regional round offered one spectacle after another.
UConn and Louisville landed on the right side of controversial calls to keep their hopes alive, while Virginia Tech left no doubt as they edged their opponents 46-15. Tennessee rolled on and Texas once again proved their history of dominating the regional round.
Although most of the reseeding has happened at the bottom of the stack thanks to some ambitious unranked teams and dominant top teams, here’s how the final 16 teams stack up.

What we know: The Vols were tested by Campbell and Georgia Tech in the Knoxville Regional but came out unscathed. Tennessee is vying to become the first national champion since 1989 in Wichita State (68-16) to win 60 games in a season.

What we know: If anyone has Virginia Tech counted out, they’re currently eating their words. The Hokies are enjoying one of the best comeback stories of the postseason, including outscoring their regional opponents 46-15 in three regional games.

3. Stanford

Original seed: 2
What we know: A hit single by Trevor Haskins, one of Stanford’s treasured newcomers, sent the Cardinal singing his fight song at the Sunken Diamond for Supers. A tied ninth inning turned into a Stanford win after a walk-off.

4. Texas

What we know: Texas is no stranger to Super Regionals: this will be the 12th edition of the program. The Longhorns and their fans finished their game against the Air Force a “USA” chant Showing unity off the field.

5. Maroon
Recording: 40-19
Original seed: 14
What we know: Auburn is the first team in SEC history to have 50+ runs in their first three tournament games. The Tigers’ consistency could be their salvation in a high-stakes Super Regional against Oregon State.

6. Arkansas

What we know: There was something in the water over in Arkansas when both the Razorbacks baseball and softball teams got promoted to the Super Regional. The Razorbacks toppled state #7 Oklahomaa team that seemed like a lockdown for Omaha.
7. Oregon State

Original seed: Nr. 3
What we know: Oregon State demonstrated one of the most important qualities of a national championship caliber team: resilience. Every inning against Vanderbilt was a back-and-forth dual, and somehow the Beavers still found something to give.

8. Texas A&M

What we know: Texas A&M has made 11 appearances in the last 12 NCAA tournaments. One of the Aggies’ main weapons will be the versatility of their lineup. Against TCU, every Aggie in the immediate lineup had at least one run.

What we know: Fate and a blurry rendering favored the huskies first, a controversial call in the eighth inninghelping UConn maintain its second Super Regional offering in program history and first since 2011.

What we know: The baseball Sooners didn’t pull off a Mercy Rules win like their softball counterparts because it took four runs in the eighth inning to give Oklahoma a come-from-behind win over Florida on the Gators’ home turf.

What we know: The Golden Eagles fell on either side of an extra-innings decision at the Hattiesburg Regional and were sacked by LSU before exiting Kennesaw State the next day. Southern Miss bounced back, winning back-to-back wins against LSU and advancing.

What we know: Outfielder Bryson Worrell there wasn’t much time to celebrate his three-run homer in the ECU’s crucial win over Coastal Carolina, but it was a rebound win after an eight-run loss to the Chanticleers the day before.

What we know: The Irish escaped a brutal regional and made two straight Super Regionals. But as one of only two non-Southern teams, Notre Dame stands out.

What we know: Aided by skill, luck, or Roy Williams pink shirt, the Tar Heels beat Virginia Commonwealth to advance. But Vance Honeycutt saved UNC’s Super Regional hopes by wall-robbing Georgia in the ninth inning to maintain the Heels’ lead.

What we know: It could be no controversy over Cameron Masterman’s double homer, which sent his team over the edge to defeat Michigan 11-9 and earn a spot in the Super Regional.
