ATP > Bertolucci: “If Djokovic does not overtake Nadal, he will surely have a bitter taste in his mouth”

Paolo Bertolucci, former 12e world player, now a consultant for Sky Sports Italy, spoke of the missed opportunities for Novak Djokovic who, according to him, should be at the top of the number of Grand Slam titles won. Rafael Nadal is now two steps ahead of the Serb and Roger Federer thanks to his 14e Roland‐Garros, synonymous with 22e coronation in Major.

“Between his disqualification at the US Open and then the problem of the vaccine… If he doesn’t get past Rafael Nadal, he will surely have a sour taste in his mouth. It is also true that Nadal had to miss eight Grand Slam tournaments due to injuries. I was convinced that Djokovic could surpass everyone in terms of the number of Grand Slams won in his career and I still believe that, but he has to play”said the Italian.
