Next year, the marathon will take place for the first time on the first weekend of May – May 6 and 7. This time, its registration is opened almost 11 months before the event. In May of next year, the “Rimi” Riga Marathon is planned as a general rehearsal for the first world running championship. The world championship will also take place in the capital of Latvia in October, but the timely opening of the marathon registration is the first step in attracting a large number of foreign participants.

The organizers intend to host a record number of participants and marathon tourists, ensuring a glorious city festival and world-class sports results on the new tracks specially created for the World Running Championships.

It is currently possible to register for marathons, half marathons and ten-kilometer distances, while registration for the shortest distances – five kilometers, DPD miles and children’s day races – will be opened as the event approaches.

The 2023 “Rimi” Riga Marathon in the first weekend of May is connected with the World Hockey Championship, which will take place in Riga and Tampere on May 12-28. In order to avoid overlapping of two large-scale city events, the organizers have decided that the “Rimi” Riga Marathon will take place a week earlier than usual.

You can register for the Rimi Riga Marathon, half marathon and ten-kilometer races from today on the marathon website www.rimirigamarathon.com. Registration for the DPD mile and the popular five-kilometer distance will begin in the second half of the year, and for Children’s Day distances for children under 12 and the Latvian School Cup at the beginning of next year.
