The Moroccan selection, made up of Saadia Batsous, Kamilia El Kourd, Chloé Boussfiha and Meryem Bouayadi, lost in the final to Egypt (30-45).
In the semi-finals, Morocco beat Senegal (45-41), while Egypt ousted Algeria (45-35).
Third place went to Algeria, after their victory over Senegal.
The Moroccan Youssra Zekrani (91st in the world) won the silver medal in the individual foil, losing (9-15) in the final against the Egyptian Noura Mhamad (26th in the world).
One of the big surprises of this competition was the elimination of the Moroccan swordsman Houssam El Kord, double African champion and 7th world player, in the round of 16 against the Ivorian Paul Alex Beugré (9-15) .
This competition, placed under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, has a record participation, with 233 registered competitors.
