The entertainment will begin at 1 p.m. with demonstrations of judo, French boxing, English boxing, bodybuilding and archery (outside). From 2 p.m., other disciplines will follow one another, such as demonstrations of sports gymnastics, pole dancing, contemporary dance by Horizon danse, an introduction to chess and a Chantadour mini-concert.
After 3 p.m., the public will be able to watch the videos of the surf and cyclo sections, then enjoy a classical dance interlude, mini-matches of handball, demonstrations of stilts and tai-chi. At the end of the afternoon, a moment of exchanges between old and new leaders will be placed under the sign of friendship, the symbol of which is the new Lous Ami’Sics section.
1,500 members
SicsBT currently has 1,500 members (the youngest is 4 years old, the oldest 80) and is 200 volunteers strong. A long way has been covered since its creation in 1952, under the aegis of the mayors of Boucau and Tarnos, respectively Jean-Baptiste Lanusse and Joseph Biarrotte, bringing together two sports and cultural structures created at the end of the Second World War so that the life regains its rights while contributing to the reconstruction of the country.
Quickly, SicsBT had tens and then hundreds of members in 17 sports and cultural sections. The association has always been supported by the two municipalities, with subsidies and free loan of premises, to the point of finding in the registers of the SicsBT two mayors of Boucau and Tarnos, honorary presidents, Jean Abbadie and André Maye.
