In the first 3 Bolivarian Games (1938, 1948 and 1951), our country was champion. Then, in the following 13 Games, Venezuela has been crowned in first place and in 2013 and 2017 the first place went to Colombia, which today leads the general medal table. Historically, our country, after the emergence of Venezuela and Colombia, occasionally occupied the third place and lately the fourth and fifth position.
For these Bolivarian Games, Peru has traveled with a delegation of 416 athletes to compete in 40 sports disciplines (we attended the 2017 Santa Marta Games with 516 athletes in 43 sports disciplines). In the previous Bolivarian Games we won 154 medals (32 gold, 53 silver and 69 bronze).
