As the organizer of the event also admitted Ben Šimkusthen the most interesting fights were Superbike in the class for second and third place, where at the end second place among experienced Superbike class drivers was won this time by our only representative of this class from Latvia – Ivo Vinniņš (”SFRT Motorsports”), for whom this was the debut season in this competition. The track record holder won first place Šarūnas Pladasbut the third place was won by the legendary Estonian motorcyclist They have Velts.
Vinniņš says that he was able to ride well on Saturday, but everything went very well in the race on Sunday: “There was also a small incident at the first corner of the start, but everything went well there and I left fourth from the first turn. After that, I did not pass the Estonian athlete for a very long time, but in the end I still found a way past him. I’m glad that I managed to overtake Velta and also showed my fastest lap time in the last lap and got under 1:40. You can say it was a dream. Because a very cool weekend.”
Superstock 600 Latvian athletes showed excellent results in the class. Both Apini brothers climbed to the podium. Gints Hops (”Motoaplis”) took the lead right from the start, maintaining its leading position until the finish, while Juris Apinis (”SFRT Motorsports”) won the third place. The second place was won Jonas Stankūnas from Lithuania.
Hot battles also took place in the B1200 class, where the “Road Racing Riga” team members fought for second and third place at the beginning. Maris Grīvins and Kristaps Grietiņšbut in the course of the race, Kristaps managed to overtake Mari and later also the original leader of the race Tauras Norkūnas from Lithuania. Good results were also shown Artis Skulte from “Road Racing Riga”, ranking fourth.
“The feelings are fantastic, never harsh. At the start I dropped to fifth place, but I fought to the last and two laps before the end I overtook Tauras. Then I blocked myself in all corners and so we went round and round until the end. According to feelings, this is the most deserved victory I’ve ever had,” admitted Grietiņš.
C1200 won the first place in the class Sanders Telve from Estonia, but the second place was taken by a Latvian motor sportsman Gatis Grosgalisbut the third place was Roman Jakubowski from Lithuania. The C600 was once again unbeatable in the class Alfred Lazdins (”SFRT Motorsports”), who won first place even with a twenty-second penalty for false start, leaving behind him in second place Normund Kazušabut in the third – Girt Feldberg (”SFRT Motorsports”).
“The purest luck that can happen, to make such an insane false start and win first place. It turned out that my advantage was much greater. But it is quite clear that such mistakes should not be made next time,” Lazdiņš concluded.
Supersport 300 winner Selina Kazakova from Estonia says: “I really liked the track because it reminded me of the Isle of Man TT. Driving here is very interesting – it is dangerous and if you fall, it is very bad. The race itself was very challenging for me because the second place winner Hugo is very fast and he knows how to overtake well. But I managed to get first place.”
Within the framework of the Baltic Championship, the Latvian one was also held Street the second round of the class cup, where the victory was won Davis Briedisleaving behind in second place Edgar Kruminubut in third place Kristaps Akulis.

The next stage of the Baltic Championship will take place on August 20-21 in Nemuno Žieda, Lithuania, while the fourth stage of the Latvian Championship will take place here in Biķernieki on July 23-24.
