The cantonal judo championship was a complete success for the Buchs judo club. Eleven Buchser judokas gave their best. Gustav Kern (U13 -34 kg) opened the tournament. He won silver with two wins and one loss. Luca Wüst (U13 -36 kg) did the same and finished second on the podium. He won three of his four fights.

Double starters won gold twice

Kilian White (U13 -40 kg) and Silvan Tischhauser (U13 -33 kg) both remain undefeated and claimed the first two gold medals for Buchs. Gustav Kern and Silvan Tischhauser also competed as doubles in the U15 age group and secured gold. Kilian White won bronze in his next higher U15 category.

Alin Klucker (U15 -45 kg) once again fought very well, won two fights with Ippon, but had to admit defeat twice and finished third. Samuel Tischhauser also started in the U15 category, in the -55 kg weight class. He gave his opponents no chance and confidently won gold. He also started a category higher and achieved the silver medal in the U18 -55 kg.

Once again, there was no herb against Noémie White at the cantonal championship. She won gold in the women’s U18 -52 kg and in the women’s U21 -52 kg. Fabian Tischhauser fought in the men’s -73 kg category. He threw his first three opponents skillfully and won with ippon. But in the fight for gold he had to admit defeat to a strong opponent from Weinfelden. In the men’s +90 kg, Roman Eggenberger took first place ahead of Reto Enderlin and Ramon Hardegger. Thanks to this great blessing of medals, Buchs became cantonal champion in the club ranking. (PD)
