Santa Cruz, July 7, 2022 (ABI).- The national government, in its policy of encouraging athletes, provided airfare this Thursday night to the Bolivian women’s wheelchair basketball team that will participate, starting Saturday, in the 2022 Copa América, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. .
“President Luis Arce Catacora is proud, I have come to bring his greetings and hugs giving you energy because you are representing the country and thank you very much for the sacrifice, for your dedication and effort,” said the Minister of Health and Sports, Jeyson Auza, to time to deliver the tickets to the athletes.
The Bolivian delegation made up of 18 members between players and coaching staff received the air tickets on the round trip route Santa Cruz – Sao Paulo – Santa Cruz.
The 2022 Copa América will take place from July 9 to 19 at the Paralympic Training Center in the city of São Paulo.
The tournament will bring together eight teams – male and female – and will qualify for the World Championship in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), from November 16 to 27.
The first authority in Health and Sports in the country, highlighted the participation of the basketball players who managed to win the South American championship played in Argentina and that made their presence possible in the Copa América in Brazil.
“I am happy to support the team and we are going to continue promoting the sport, as we have said, if you achieve a good performance in this Copa América, we are going to guarantee your participation in Dubai”, Auza promised.
On behalf of the delegation, Patricia Trujillo thanked the support provided by the national government that guarantees the participation of the national delegation in the international tournament, and committed the greatest efforts in each of the matches they face in the contest.
