The United States get out of the Spanish trap to remain U17 World Champions

After an exceptional final, the United States won their sixth U17 Men’s World Championship title. To achieve this, they had to dominate a Spanish national team (79-67) pushed by a large audience in Malaga.

Manhandled for three quarters by a Spanish U17 men’s national team carried by the large public (8,000 people) in Malaga, the United States managed to gain the upper hand in the last 15 minutes to win the final 79-67 and their sixth men’s U17 World Cup, in six competitions.

Not having been able to develop their spectacular and effective transition game in the first half, they made the locals bend during the third quarter, causing many loss of ball to afford easy baskets. Enough to gain confidence and completely dominate the end of the meeting, like the prospect Cooper Flagg (10 points at 3/11 on shots, 17 rebounds, 8 steals and 4 blocks for 30 evaluation in 26 minutes), which could be… U15 if he was born 11 days later than December 21, 2006.

After a competition controlled from start to finish, like their final where they were able to get the upper hand over a high-quality Spanish team in a hostile environment, the Americans remain on top of the world, ahead of Spain and France.
