New Dan Grand for the TV Wehen Judo Lions

On Saturday, July 9th, 2022, Leon Thurn from the Judo-Lions of TV 1873 Wehen EV successfully and confidently passed his 1st Dan exam (black belt) at the Dan exam of the Hessian Judo Association.

For Leon and his partner Noah Payne, the last few weeks consisted of intensive training preparation. Leon Thurn and his partner were prepared by Ernst Zimmerer from HTG Bad Homburg.

Since the examination program for acquiring the 1st Dan is very extensive, the examination subjects were taken in individual stages on different examination days. The last examination subject “Kata” (technical demonstrations) as well as various “throw techniques” took place on 09.07. at the official summer exam of the Hessian Judo Association.

Leon Thurn started judo at TV Wehen 13 years ago. Today he is already firmly integrated in the coaching staff and very popular with the children. After Thomas Kaiser (also a trainer at TV Wehen), Leon is the second judoka at TV Wehen to have gone through all belt levels from white belt to master level.

Also from the Judo-Lions, the judoka Martin Vierengel and his partner were able to successfully pass further examination subjects before Martin will also take the rest of his Dan examination in October.

With the start of the new school year, new beginner groups for all age groups start. Information at: www.tvwehen.de
