Breathtaking sums are now being paid for trading cards from NBA stars

The market for basketball cards is in full swing and is currently setting new records frequently. Two years ago, an auction of a rookie card by LeBron James (2003/2004, Upper Deck) broke the record for the NBA’s most expensive card in modern times, selling for $1.8 million.

Another record-breaking ticket sale took place in March 2021 when high-end collector Bolillo Lajan San sold a 2018-2019 season Dallas superstar Luka Doncic Panini National Treasures Logoman rookie ticket for the insane sum of $4.6 million .

That record didn’t last long, however, as a 2003/2004 LeBron James Upper Deck “Exquisite Collection” Exquisite Rookie Patch autograph card sold for $5.2 million later that year.

A mint condition one-off Upper Deck Exquisite Triple Logoman card featuring worn jersey patches from LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan is now up for auction.

According to various reports, the card will bring in more than three million dollars.
