Haut-Marnais on the podium

the 1re Compagnie d’Arc d’Eclaron organized from Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 July, the fourth edition of the Beursault 24-hour team challenge. An event based on traditional Beursault shooting, unique of its kind in France.

In total, eleven teams of three archers, six teams in recurve and five in compound, were entered.

The archers were from Ulis (Essonne), Rosny-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis), Neufchâteau (Vosges), Conflans-en-Jarnisy, Toul (Meurthe-et-Moselle), Ligny-en-Barrois (Meuse), Sainte-Menehould, Verzy, Châlons-en-Champagne (Marne), Troyes, Brienne-le-Château (Aube), Saint-Dizier and the 1time Company of Arc d’Eclaron.

In terms of the procedure, each team had to have one of its members present on the firing line during the 24 hours.

Each archer shot forty arrows per round, according to the federal shooting regulations Beursault. All the starts were qualifiers for the French Beursault championship, which will be held in early October in the Paris region.

Beautiful podiums

At the end of the weekend, twelve qualifications for the French championships were obtained or confirmed for some. Temperatures were particularly high on Saturday and Sunday during the day. The night, which was quite cool, allowed some to score points.

In terms of results, the team made up of Valentin Prunnot, Alexandre Godel (Neufchâteau) and Philippe Gicquel (Brienne) won in recurve, finishing ahead of the trio made up of Mylène Soudant, Brice Soudant (Eclaron) and Pauline Chemin ( Chalons Champagne). Jean-Luc Chevillion (Eclaron), with his friends Nadine Donetti and Jean-Marie Donetti, winner of the first edition, complete the podium. In the compound bow category, Bragard Christophe Keller (Castors Bleus) won the event with Châlonnais Gérard Lamarthée and Thomas Chagaar.

Second place was won by Alain Bauer (Toul), Gaëtan Robin (Sainte-Menehould) and Serge Robert (Conflans-en-Jarnisy). Christophe Loup (Verzy) and Linéens Jean and Luc Douge complete the podium, tied with Jean-Luc Chevillion (Eclaron), Nadine and Jean-Marie Donetti (Conflans-en-Jarnisy).
