The young mirobrigense Lucia Sanchez Baez was announced on Friday European futsal university champion with the team of King Juan Carlos University of Madrid of which it is a part, made up of a total of 14 players students of the Madrid institution.
The conquest of the title has taken place in the Polish town of lozdwithin the framework of European University Games which is hosting that place from July 17 to 30, bringing together a total of 19 sports disciplinesamong which are essential in major events such as football, handball, swimming, water polo, judo or karate, along with other less common ones such as kickboxing, chess or beach handball.
As regards the competition indoor football in which champion was proclaimed Lucia Sanchez Baezhas gathered 10 universities from all over Europetaking part with the King Juan Carlos from Madrid, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology; the University of Munster (Germany); the Hungarian University of Sport Sciences; the Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics of Ukraine; the University of Tampere (Finland); that of Lisbon (Portugal); the Palacky of Olomuc (Czech Republic); the Jagiellonian from Poland; and that of Zagreb (Croatia).
The Rey Juan Carlos University has not lost a single match throughout the Championship. In the first phase, they won the Norwegian University of Science and Technology by 10-1; to University of Zagreb by 3-1; Yet the University of Tampere by 4-2; yielding only a tie (at 5) with the Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics. In the semifinals, they endorsed a little hand (5-0) to the Munster University, while in the grand final played on Friday afternoon they beat the Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics.
This European title for Lucia Sanchez Baez comes less than two weeks after another young Mirobrigense, Carmen Alvarez Sanchezachieved the European Football Sub’19 Championbecoming curious that both young women are prime.
