Alejandro del Rey opens his palmars after winning the German Challenge

Ehe spanish Alexander Del Rey made his own, after a playoff with the Pole Mateusz Gradecki, the German Challenge (Big Green Egg German Challenge), played at the Wittelsbacher Golfclub, debuting his record of victories on this circuit, and with the also Spanish Manuel Elvira in the third square, in one fell swoop.

Alejandro Del Rey, a 24-year-old from Madrid who studied at the University of Arizona, succeeds Marbella ngel Hidalgo in the German tournament, who also achieved his first major victory in 2021 in this tournament.

Del Rey, who last October made headlines for being the first golfer in history to achieve a card of 58 strokes in a tournament scoring for the European Tour, by signing 14 under par, in the second round of the Swiss Challenge, delivered this Sunday a card with 69 impacts (-3), for a cumulative of 271 (-17). He had come out a shot ahead of Gradecki, but with a 68 he forced the tiebreaker.

The tournament was decided in favor of the Spaniard on the second playoff hole, because after a first with both making the par 5 of the 18th, Del Rey signed a ‘birdie’ on the second, which the Pole did not do.

Manuel Elvira, who had also faced the last day to a blow from Del Rey, had to settle for a 69, which gives him third place alone. Borja Virto also finished in the top ten of the standings, eighth, seven shots off the lead.
