Scorer in Club Brugge’s 3-2 win over Genk, Hans Vanaken entered the very restricted club of players who scored 100 Pro League goals in the 21st century. According to Opta, he is even the first midfielder to achieve such a performance since the beginning of the century.
Vanaken made his Division 1 debut at Lokeren in the 2013–14 season. In Daknam, he took part in 76 league games and shook the net 19 times. Statistics that caught the attention of Club Brugge, with whom he joined in July 2015. At the Blauw en Zwart, in addition to filling his trophy cabinet with five Belgian championship titles, he improved his statistics and scored 81 goals.
Hans Vanaken becomes the seventh player to score 100 Pro League goals since the turn of the century. At his side, we find Hamdi Harbaoui, Jelle Vossen, Jeremy Perbet, Wesley Sonck, Mbaye Leye et Dieumerci Mbokani.
