Albi. A successful end-of-year internship for judokas

For the end of the season, the Albi judo club organized an end-of-year internship for all its graduates as well as those of the Réquista club. On June 18 and 19, around forty judokas, aged 7 to 64, left for a stay near Tourbes.

To thank everyone’s investment throughout the season, the Albi judo club had decided to take care of everything with the support of its partners for the endowments and for the trip.

Thus, the delegation left on Saturday morning for a morning swim at Lake Montanies. In the afternoon, the judokas were invited to the fiftieth anniversary of the Judo Club de Tourbes (near Pézenas) where they were able to meet the Olympic medalists Autumn Pavia and Emily Andéol for a signing and photo session as well as a demonstration on the tatami mats. In the aftermath, reigning European champions Stéphane Bega and Grégory Marques were also able to demonstrate their performance in kata. The day ended with a training together then a drink of friendship. Despite the late bedtime, there was no rest for the trainees who got up at dawn for a jogging, sheathing and stretching sequence before heading to the Koh Landia amusement park and its inflatable games.

After an early afternoon at Valras beach, the Tarnais set off again towards Albi with a stop at the Mazamet footbridge to discover the village of Hautpouls.

A busy weekend to end the season in style, trainees delighted with the stay, a great success for the Albi judo club. Despite the end of the season, judo continues with sessions to keep in shape, scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer, open sessions from the minimal category. Training will resume on August 23 for the cadet, junior and senior categories and on Tuesday September 6 for the youth categories.
