Medals from day one
We get to the heart of the matter from the first day, when the first medals of the Olympic fortnight will already be awarded. The day after the opening ceremony, July 27 will see the first unforgettable emotions of the Games take place, before the eyes of the whole world are fixed on those who mark history. The streets of Paris will come alive, with the women’s and men’s road cycling time trials starting at 2:30 p.m., while judo will begin its week of competition at the Arena Champ-de-Mars, while fencing will take over the Grand Palais when rugby 7s will inaugurate the enclosure of the Stade de France. Swimming, diving and shooting will also feature on this inaugural day, in their settings at the Aquatic Centre, the Arena la Défense and the National Shooting Stand in Châteauroux.
On the side of additional sports, skateboarding will be invited from the first day of competition on the Place de la Concorde to answer the question of who will succeed the Japanese armada, victorious three times out of four events in Tokyo. Two weeks later, it’s time for breaking! This sport will celebrate its Olympic baptism by setting Place de la Concorde on fire on August 9 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the B-Girls and the next day at the same time for the B-Boys, and thus conclude an unforgettable fortnight on one of the most emblematic of Paris.
A crazy weekend in the middle of the Games
No downtime for the weekend placed in the middle of the Olympics, but rather a highlight that will keep the whole world spellbound. On August 3 and 4, fifteen sports will be involved in a weekend where a myriad of finals will make all sports fans dream. Tennis, table tennis and judo with the famous team event, unpublished in Tokyo, will be in the game. There will be something for everyone, since fencing, athletics, archery, shooting, cycling with online races, golf, horse riding, rowing, artistic gymnastics , badminton and swimming will all crown Olympic champions.
Swimming and athletics: prime time finals
The athletics and swimming finals are among those moments that make the Olympic Games special. Those moments when the whole world holds its breath in front of the greatest champions of the planet, clashing with blows of hundredths in an overheated arena to leave their mark on history.
