At the Hessian Judo Championships for U18 and U21 in Wiesbaden, Rabea Hohmann won a gold medal and Lara Schäfer two silver medals. Both belong to the Kodokan Neuhof. Hessian champion was also the Petersberger Tim Nebenführ.
Wiesbaden/Fulda – Despite the manageable number of participants, the individual classes were well occupied. Rabea Hohmann and Lara Schäfer from Kodokan Neuhof (Fulda district) competed in the weight class up to 63 kilograms (U18). In the first encounter, Hohmann defeated Lucia Petermann (TSG Nordwest Frankfurt) with a classic O-uchi-gari after ten seconds.
In the second encounter against her clubmate Lara Schäfer, she decided the encounter after one minute with an ippon (full point) for an inside sickle. In the third fight against Nele Roth (JC Hünfelden) she ended the duel after 1:13 with a crashing outer sickle (O-soto-gari).
In the last fight against the powerful Ukrainian Yuliia Novytska, an intense fight broke out. A waza-aria (half a point) for a counter technique and a subsequent hold by Hohmann ensured clear conditions and the deserved gold medal.
