The African Football Confederation (CAF) proceeded this Tuesday to the draw of the first preliminary round of the Champions League. While six clubs have been exempted from this round (Wydad Casablanca, defending champion, plus TP Mazembe, Al Ahly, Raja Casablanca, Mamelodi Sundowns and Espérance Tunis), several teams will still be on deck.
JS Kabylie will thus face Casa Sport, a Senegalese club representing Casamance, the native region of a certain Sadio Mané. CR Bélouizdad, the other Algerian representative, will go to Sierra Leone where Bo Rangers FC awaits them.
Zamalek will travel to Chad to challenge Elect Sport, while Vita Club will do battle with Batswana Gaborone United. For its part, ASEC Mimosas will be opposed to the Beninese of Coton Sport, while Horoya will face the Gambians of Hawks.
First leg matches from September 9 to 11, return between September 16 and 18
