The French artistic swimming team won the bronze medal in the technical event of the European Championships on Thursday in Rome.
This is the first French medal in a major international artistic swimming championship since Virginie Dedieu’s world title in 2007. At European level, France has been waiting to get on the podium since 2004.
“It’s a lot of pride, an accomplishment also because we worked very hard to get there”, reacted Charlotte Tremble, one of the leaders of the team. “We have stars in our eyes and that’s a boost for the rest of the competition.”
Fourth at the Budapest Worlds in June, Les Bleues, who played to Daft Punk music, moved up a rank to take third place this time behind Ukraine in gold and Italy in silver.

The French will be back in the basin of the Foro italico in Rome for the highlights event on Friday and for the playoffs of the free event on Saturday.
