the open tennis tournament broke an entry record

Having started on July 29, the tournament ended on Friday August 12, breaking registration records. In all, there were 463 participants, 200 more than the previous one. “The Soulac Tennis Club (TC Soulac) is thus at the forefront of amateur tournaments in Gironde”, recalled Xavier Pintat, mayor and former president.

“The 2022 tournament will have been marked by the heat wave and several fires starting around the tennis courts of the Forest, Tottoral pass. However, all the matches were played with a break from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., two rotations in the morning from 9 a.m. and sometimes night rotations until midnight,” described judge and referee Michel Muller. He was assisted by Morgane Gramond. Seven referees took turns and 18 young ball boys in turquoise jerseys made a guard of honor for the winners and finalists.

The finalists were Karen Marthiens for the ladies and Warren Sinius for the gentlemen. Michel Muller highlighted the presence of the French No. 15 and four under 15s at the tournament.

A collaboration between the club and the municipality

The congratulations of the mayor Xavier Pintat and Daniel Milliet (deputy for sport) were addressed to the TC Soulac team, chaired by Yannick Roussel, for the organization but also to the partners, to Nelly Portier, the permanent of the structure, and of course to athletes. The success of such a tournament is not the result of chance, but of long experience as well as in-depth work by the managers and the tennis school.

Yannick Roussel, for his part, thanked the municipality for its support, and more particularly the technical services of the municipality.
