Viterbo – The new season of Ortoetruria-WeCom Viterbo blue star in the C gold Lazio championship will start on Sunday 9 October. Debut at PalaMalè against San Paolo Ostiense and then fly the following weekend to Sardinia waiting on the parquet of the Esperia Olimpia Cagliari.
A very demanding tournament that will see ten teams lined up for each of the two groups that make up the first phase, each of which will have to face 18 home and away matches. In the second phase, the teams of each group will then be pitted against the ten of the other in a single match to be played at home or away depending on the position reached in the standings. At the end of the regular season, a single ranking will be drawn up that will reward the first two with direct access to the interregional Serie B. An additional eight teams (from the third to the tenth) will then play the playoffs which in two phases will lead to another three teams to win the promotion as well.
The white-studded team following a draw was included in group A together with San Nilo Grottaferrata, San Paolo Ostiense, Palestrina Basketball, Civitavecchia Cestistica, Club Basket Frascati, Scuba Frosinone, Ciampino Frassati, Basket Ferentino and Esperia Olimpia Cagliari, ranking that sees in reality is the presence of the majority of the teams accredited to the category jump. Virtus Roma 1960, Formia Basketball, Anzio Basket Club, Carver Roma, Pass Roma, Tiber Basket Roma, Alfa Omega, Smit Roma, Basket Cassino and Virtus Valmontone are included in group B.
A season that promises to be extremely difficult and fought, but in which the Viterbo team, which will start training on 29 August, still wants to be a protagonist again.
